Camp Kátur

This weekend we went "glamping" in North Yorkshire for Mel's birthday. We stayed at the absolutely stunning Camp Kátur which is about five miles from the village of Masham.

We stayed in this beautiful little "hobbit pod". I really can't speak highly enough of the site, our "pod" was located just on the edge of a forest clearing with a huge meadow in the middle. There are several types of glamping accommodation available including these pods, tipis and safari tents. Each of these has their own BBQ, fire pit and picnic table, and they're fitted out with furniture. There's also an on-site eco-spa which was situated on the other side of the meadow to our pod, but the owners have cut pathways through the meadow leading between each of the accommodation areas, the kitchen and washroom facilities and the spa. These pathways join in the centre at a fire pit with enough seating for everyone to meet and hang-out around the fire on a warm night. The whole place is so aesthetically pleasing and the owners clearly have a keen eye for detail, decorating everything with cute lanterns, bunting, lovely furnishings and fairy lights. It was totally dreamy.
